What is Steak and Jake: Midnight March?
Steak and Jake: Midnight March is a Halloween-themed spin-off of the original "Steak and Jake" puzzle platformer. You control Jake the color-changing bird, trying to protect his clumsy friend Steak and guiding the spooky Ghouls to the Haunted Barn at the end of the level. Using the lower puzzle area, Jake can make matches to change color, and can then interact with objects and enemies along their path.

How do I make matches and change color?
Click matches of three or more bubbles in the lower puzzle area. After clicking a match, Jake will become this color! If you can't find a match of the color you need, clear out other matches so new color bubbles will take their place.

How do I interact with objects and enemies on the path?
After Jake changes color, he can click on objects and enemies that are the same color.  After clicking on an object, that color is used up, and Jake needs to make a new match to change colors again.  Most objects can be clicked to interact, while others need to be pulled or dragged, and some need Steak or a Ghoul to jump into them.

How do I control Steak?
Steak walks along slowly with the milk, but Jake can click and pull Steak upwards to jump. Sometimes you need to jump to reach a higher platform, to bump into a cow-print block, or to jump onto a springboard. Jake can also pull Steak downwards to drop through some platforms.

How do I control the Ghouls?
Control the Ghouls the same way you control Steak! Click and pull the Ghouls up to jump, and down to drop through platforms. Ghouls can also step on switches and bump cow-print blocks, and in many levels you will need to direct multiple Ghouls towards different switches to open the path for Steak!

How do I use a speed boost?
The “Boost” speedometer is available next to the puzzle area. The button on the speedometer changes color, so you first need to make a match for Jake to become that color. Click and HOLD on the speedometer button to boost! You can keep holding down the boost until it runs out, and if you make a match of a lot of bubbles, you’ll be able to boost longer. The Ghouls will also run when Steak runs, so be careful you don't accidentally slam them into walls with a Boost!

How do I use a wildcard?
If you're having trouble finding a match in the puzzle, click one of the Wildcard icons. Jake can now click objects of any color!
After you use a wild card, its meter will slowly refill before you can use it again.

How do I beat a level?
Each trail ends with a barn and a customer who is waiting for milk. When Steak reaches the customer and delivers the milk, the level is complete! At least one Ghoul must make it to the end of the level to unlock the next area.
